Aloha and welcome to Med-Assist School of Hawaii. We have proudly been Hawaii’s leader in healthcare education since 1974. Our campus is centrally located on the island of O’ahu, in the bustling metropolis of downtown Honolulu. We hope you enjoy learning about our school and all we have to offer!

Admissions Requirements

Interested in applying to Med-Assist School of Hawaii? Prospective students can APPLY TODAY, or call 808-524-3363 to schedule a free entrance exam offered every Wednesday at 1:00 pm.

The Exam

Our free entrance exam consists of math and reading, and takes between one to two hours to complete. Each part of the exam is split into two sections; the reading section consists of vocabulary and reading comprehension while the math section is split into mathematics computation and applied mathematics.

(Note: The entrance exam does not apply for the Professional Medical Coding class.)

The Application

You can fill out an application here, or simply pick one up at the front office when you come in for a tour of the school. As our classes do fill up quickly, please bring the following documentation along with a $100 registration deposit to hold your spot for the upcoming class.

  • Copy of High School Diploma or GED equivalent or higher.
  • Physical Exam (Statement of Good Health from your Doctor)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test
  • Measles status
  • You also must start the first of three Hepatitis B vaccinations. The remainder of the injections will be finished before you graduate.(Not applicable for PMC Course

Admissions Interview

Applicants are encouraged to participate in a personal interview with members of the school’s faculty and staff to assess their personal maturity and desire for becoming a medical assistant. This interview provides prospective students an opportunity to ask our teachers about any aspect of the school, the curriculum offered, the field of study, the profession, and career prospects related to the medical assisting field.
